SIX POINTS THEATER presents
Family Drama / Suspense Thriller / Near-Future Dystopia
by Deborah Zoe Laufer
Directed by Amy Rummenie
featuring Avi Aharoni and Sally Wingert
Playwright Deborah Zoe Laufer imagines America in 2029, reshaped by authoritarian nationalism after the
January 6th insurrection.
Brash, defiant Sarah (Charleigh Wolf) clashes with her cautious father Paul (Avi Aharoni) when a mysterious one-thousand-year-old relative named Chava (Sally Wingert) lands on their doorstep, looking for shelter from the fascist regime taking away their rights, and risking discovery by Sarah's would-be boyfriend John (Carter Graham).
As inspections intensify and whole communities are disappeared, Sarah bonds with Chava through language and ritual while Paul wrestles with fear and assimilation, forcing the family to question the value of survival under silence. Laufer’s dystopian family drama urges us all to remember our past and reclaim our future.
