Barbara Brooks came across a survey in 1992 that said two-thirds of Jewish families in St. Paul had no affiliation with any Jewish institutions, and she recognized that her family was part of that statistic. With a background in music therapy, which uses music to facilitate change, Brooks thought why not try it with theater? The end result was Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company – now Six Points Theater – which is celebrating the start of its 30th season this week. We talk about the milestone, why she started the theater in the first place, and an exciting first to open the new season, on this week’s Who The Folk?! Podcast.
