Six Points Theater Hires Writer/Event Producer

to fill new position, that of Managing Director

St. Paul, Minn. – Writer/Event Producer Art Allen has been named Managing Director at Six Points Theater, a new position.

Art is a writer, veteran event producer (Minnesota Beard-Off, Buzzedwords, Pundamonium), and award-winning former escape room owner (Riddle Room) - he won the 2017 Golden Lock-In Award for his escape room, Utopia.

“I am really energized to join Six Points Theater at such an exciting time. I see my work to support this theater as a privilege and a duty. Six Points Theater has established itself as a powerful voice for understanding, and I believe working to spotlight Jewish stories will help us through this time in history.”

Art has an extensive background in nonprofit communications. His pun contest, Pundamonium, was featured in the Wall Street Journal. He’s been a copywriter, contract strategist, and marketing director. As Managing Director, he will oversee operations, marketing, audience development, and the strategic plan for the theater.

"Long-range strategic planning over the last few years made clear the importance of adding this position to our staff in order for us to continue to thrive. I'm more confident than ever that Six Points Theater is poised to continue to grow as we advance our mission and move forward into our fourth decade."

The Plymouth, Minn., native graduated cum laude from Northeastern University with a BA in political science, and is a proud graduate of the Perpich Center for Arts Education in Golden Valley.

Now in its 30th year, Six Points Theater was founded in 1994 by Barbara Brooks to engage people of all backgrounds in work rooted in Jewish content, that explores differences, illuminates commonalities and fosters greater understanding among all people. The theater’s work has garnered five Ivey Awards as well as the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council's Arts Achievement Award.
